Profile
Adrigole Arts (Pure-Ireland) is a craft shop and art gallery in the village of Adrigole on the Beara Peninsula in County Cork, along the Wild Atlantic Way. It sits roughly midway between Glengarriff and Castletownbere, housed in a renovated traditional farmhouse with views over the surrounding coastline and mountains. Established in 1997, it is run by Gerry Bruton and Cécile Thévenet, who live on the premises.
The shop stocks a selection of Irish-made crafts and gifts, including jewellery, ceramics and pottery, woollens and knitwear, glass, leather goods, woodcraft and art prints, with an emphasis on the work of Irish artisans and makers. Purchases can also be made through the associated online store, Pure-Ireland.
Upstairs, the gallery exhibits contemporary work by artists living in Ireland, with a focus on landscape and seascape paintings from the south-west, alongside ceramics and sculpture. The gallery also hosts a series of intimate music concerts through the year, and a coffee shop operates on site during the main visitor season.
