Profile
Borris Food and Craft Market is a weekly market held in the centre of Borris, a Georgian village in County Carlow set in the Barrow Valley. It takes place on Friday mornings at Borris Town Hall on the village’s Main Street, bringing together local producers, growers and craftspeople in one place.
The market focuses on homemade and handmade goods, and traders sell what they make or grow themselves. Stalls typically offer home baking, savouries, cheeses, preserves, pickles, eggs, and fresh fruit and vegetables, alongside fresh fish and cut flowers.
As well as food, the market showcases the work of area artists and makers. Visitors can browse craft such as woodturning, paintings, jewellery, knitting and hand-printed children’s wear, making it a good place to pick up something handmade while stocking up on fresh produce.
Borris Market has been running for well over a decade and also operates a click-and-collect option, with orders placed online in advance for collection at the Friday market.
