Profile
The Cliffs of Moher Tour by Adventure 001 Helicopters Ireland offers a chance to see one of Ireland’s most famous stretches of coastline from the air. Flights depart from Spanish Point Airfield on the west coast of County Clare, taking to the skies in a jet-powered helicopter for a scenic run along the Wild Atlantic Way towards the Cliffs of Moher before returning to base.
The route covers roughly 45 kilometres and follows the rugged Clare coastline, giving passengers a view of the Atlantic seaboard and the cliffs from an angle that is impossible to reach on foot. The rear seating area carries up to five passengers, and there is the option to upgrade to the co-pilot seat for an additional charge. A safety briefing is provided before each flight, and passengers are welcome to bring a camera to record the trip.
Adventure 001 Helicopters Ireland is one of the country’s established helicopter sightseeing and charter operators, flying from a number of bases around Ireland. On the ground at Spanish Point there is free parking and a viewing area where friends and family can watch the helicopters come and go. Tours can be booked for a specific date or bought as an open-dated gift voucher, and it is worth confirming current prices, age and weight requirements, and availability with the operator directly before travelling.
