Cormac's Coast Tour of the Cliffs of Moher

Cormac’s Coast offers private, guided walking tours of the Cliffs of Moher and the wider coastline of County Clare. Based at Caherbarnagh near Liscannor, the tours are led by Cormac McGinley, a zoologist and marine biologist who spent eleven years working as a ranger at the Cliffs of Moher before setting up his own guiding company.

The walks are designed for small groups and move at an unhurried pace, with plenty of time to take in the surroundings. A typical tour explores the geology and natural forces that have shaped the cliffs, the seabirds, mammals and marine life found along this stretch of coast, and the native plants and wildflowers. Cormac also draws on the area’s long history of human settlement and the maritime heritage of Ireland’s west coast and the Aran Islands.

Tours can be tailored to whatever interests you most, and Cormac provides equipment such as binoculars and viewing scopes to help you make the most of the wildlife and scenery. Alongside the Cliffs of Moher, he runs walks in the Burren and fossil and shoreline walks elsewhere in the region. The tours are family-friendly and welcome dogs, making them a relaxed way to see the Clare coast in the company of a knowledgeable local guide.
