Ekotree Knitwear

Ekotree Knitwear is a designer-maker studio and visitor centre in Doolin, County Clare, on the Wild Atlantic Way in the Burren region. The knitwear on sale is designed and made on site, and visitors are welcome to browse the retail space, see the studio and learn about how the pieces are produced.

The range brings contemporary styling to traditional Aran knitwear, worked in a variety of natural and eco yarns including cashmere, superfine alpaca, lambs wool merino, mohair, linen and organic cotton. Alongside women’s and men’s knitwear you will find scarves, hats, headbands and other accessories, as well as homeware and gifts, and the studio also undertakes bespoke, one-off commissions.

Sustainability runs through the business, which is a member of the Burren Eco Tourism Network and follows the Leave No Trace ethics programme. Doolin itself is a handy base for the area, sitting close to the Cliffs of Moher and the ferries to the Aran Islands, so a stop at the studio pairs easily with the wider sights of north Clare.
