Profile
Homestead Cottage is a restaurant in Doolin, County Clare, on Ireland’s west coast, a short drive from Doolin village and the Cliffs of Moher. It is set within a restored old stone cottage, giving the dining room a warm, intimate character, and it seats only a small number of guests at each service.
The restaurant is run by husband-and-wife team Robbie and Sophie McCauley, with Robbie as head chef. The kitchen serves a set, frequently changing menu built around fresh, local and seasonal produce, working directly with farmers, fishermen and artisan producers across County Clare to make the most of the region’s land and sea.
Since opening in 2023, Homestead Cottage has been awarded a Michelin star and was named Best Restaurant in Munster at the Irish Restaurant Awards. Dinner and weekend lunch are served across a limited number of days each week, and booking ahead is essential as places are few. Prospective diners should check the restaurant’s website for current opening times, menus and reservations.
