Profile
Mount Wolseley Golf and Country Club sits in the rolling countryside near Tullow, County Carlow, part of a four-star hotel, spa and golf resort set on the former estate of the Wolseley family. The grounds lie within reach of the River Slaney, with the Wicklow and Blackstairs Mountains rising in the distance.
The centrepiece is an 18-hole parkland course designed by the Irish golfer Christy O’Connor Jnr and opened in 1996. Playing to a par of 72 and around 7,134 yards from the back tees, it is regarded as one of Ireland’s leading parkland courses. Mature trees and a series of lakes shape the layout, with water coming into play on a number of holes, giving golfers of most abilities a genuine test.
Alongside the golf, the resort offers hotel accommodation, a spa and a selection of self-catering holiday homes on site, making it a base for both golfing breaks and general stays in the south-east of Ireland. A pro shop and golf packages are also available for visitors and groups.
