Ring Beach

Ring Beach sits on the coast of East County Cork, a short distance from the village of Ballymacoda and around twelve kilometres from the town of Youghal. Known locally as Greenlands, this quiet sandy strand is a firm favourite with people from the surrounding area and overlooks Ballymacoda Bay and Pillmore.

The beach faces east towards Youghal, which leaves it sheltered from the prevailing south-westerly winds and makes for calm, family-friendly conditions on many days. It has been recognised with a Green Coast Award for its clean environment and natural setting, and its water quality has been classified as Excellent based on sampling over recent bathing seasons.

The area around Ring is ecologically important, designated as both a Special Protection Area and a Special Area of Conservation, so it is a good spot for those who enjoy coastal wildlife and unspoilt scenery. Visitors are asked to follow leave-no-trace principles, as bins are not provided at the beach, so please take all litter home with you.
