Seafield Beach

Seafield Beach sits on the rugged West Clare coastline just outside the village of Quilty, County Clare, along the Wild Atlantic Way and a short drive from Spanish Point and Miltown Malbay. A busy fishing pier separates two sandy beaches that lie either side of a short peninsula, making it a working stretch of coast as well as a place to relax by the sea.

The setting offers wide Atlantic views, looking south towards Doonbeg and the mountains of Kerry, and north towards the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher. Alongside swimming, the beach is popular for walking, seasonal bird watching and painting, and it holds a Green Coast Award in recognition of its clean environment, water quality and natural surroundings.

Swimming is the main activity here. Lifeguards are on duty daily from 11am to 7pm between 1st July and 31st August, with first aid and temporary toilets provided on a seasonal basis while lifeguards are present. For safety, motorised watercraft, surfing and the use of canoes and kayaks are not permitted close to swimmers. Beach bye-laws also apply, with horse riding and dogs prohibited between 11am and 6pm during the summer season.
