Spanish Point Golf Club

Spanish Point Golf Club is a nine-hole links course on the coast of County Clare, set about 3km south of the town of Miltown Malbay along the Wild Atlantic Way. Running beside the Atlantic, the course makes the most of its setting, with natural dunes, rolling fairways and the changeable coastal winds that give links golf its character. Because the sandy ground drains naturally, the course stays playable throughout much of the year and rarely closes.

The club dates back to 1896 and has built a strong reputation among Ireland’s shorter courses, having been named Best 9-Hole Course in Munster by the Golfers Guide to Ireland in 2019 and again in 2024. Played over its full eighteen, the layout measures around 5,160 yards to a par of 68, making it an approachable and enjoyable round for golfers of varying abilities.

Facilities include a clubhouse with a refurbished bar and locker rooms, along with an indoor TrackMan studio open to the public for practice and lessons. Club, trolley and buggy hire are available, and the club welcomes visitors, societies and groups.

Spanish Point sits within easy reach of some of Clare’s best-known attractions, lying close to Lahinch and its championship links, the Cliffs of Moher, and the traditional music and pubs for which this stretch of the west coast is well known.
