Profile
The Barn Gastropub is a family-run pub and restaurant in Glanmire, on the eastern edge of Cork city in County Cork. Opened by the Dolan family in 1980, it has served the local community for more than four decades and remains in the same family ownership, trading under the line “Feeding Cork since 1980.” A recent renovation added a bright new extension to the original premises, allowing the venue to open from breakfast right through to dinner.
The kitchen runs across several menus over the course of the day. Breakfast and brunch are served from the morning, with full Irish breakfasts and dishes such as eggs Benedict and pancakes, while a carvery operates from midday. An all-day menu offers pub favourites including burgers, Neapolitan-style pizza, ribs, wings and steaks, with the kitchen typically open into the evening. There is full bar service alongside the food.
The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, and the pub is both family and dog-friendly, with water bowls provided for visiting pets. Practical touches include ample on-site parking and card-only payment. A short drive from the city centre, it has earned consistent recognition in recent Irish dining guides and holds strong local reviews.
