The Farmyard

The Farmyard is a farm-based activity centre near Corofin in County Clare, set at the foot of Mullaghmor Mountain in the heart of the Burren. Run by Darragh and Aisling, it is a pre-booked venue for groups that promotes an active, hands-on approach to farm and country life, welcoming visitors of all ages.

Rather than a walk-round animal park, the emphasis here is on taking part. Depending on the programme, guests can try their hand at traditional skills such as milking a cow, shearing a sheep, churning butter and making brown bread, along with Irish dancing lessons, farm and Burren walks, and team challenges like sheep gathering, wellie throwing and archery. The farm caters for a wide mix of groups, including cultural tourism visitors, corporate team-building days, family celebrations, school tours and summer camps.

There are indoor and outdoor facilities on site, and tea rooms serving homemade fare and lunch by arrangement. Free car parking is available, and pre-booking is essential. Corofin sits inland within the Burren and along the Wild Atlantic Way, roughly twenty minutes’ drive from the Cliffs of Moher, which makes The Farmyard an easy addition to a wider tour of the region.
