The Whale's Tail

The Whale’s Tail is a family-run bistro in Clonakilty, County Cork, on the Wild Atlantic Way. Trading as Kirby’s at The Whale’s Tail, it sits on Clarke Street next to the Clonakilty Distillery, overlooking the waterfront.

The restaurant caters for occasions from a casual meal to larger celebrations, with seating for up to 100 guests and space for group bookings and parties. Its menus draw on fresh local produce, with options for coeliacs, vegetarians and vegans, alongside a range of wines and a cocktail menu. Dine-at-home menus are also available for collection.

Visitors travelling by car will find a 70-space customer car park adjacent to the Clonakilty Distillery, making it a convenient stop while exploring Clonakilty and the surrounding West Cork coast.
