UL Sport Adventure Centre

UL Sport Adventure Centre is an outdoor activity centre at Twomilegate, near Killaloe in County Clare, on the shores of Lough Derg at the foot of Crag Hill. Operated by the University of Limerick’s UL Sport, it lies about two miles from Killaloe and roughly a 20-minute drive from Limerick city, close to Ballycuggaran Forest Park.

The centre runs a broad programme of water and land-based activities. On the lake you can try kayaking, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing and stand-up paddleboarding, including giant paddleboards, as well as water orienteering. On land there are high ropes, rock climbing, archery, hill walking, orienteering and team challenge activities. Sessions are led by trained instructors and run in a supervised, safety-focused setting.

Packages are available for schools and youth groups, summer camps, families, sports teams and corporate or team-building days. On-site facilities include heated changing rooms with hot showers and a kitchen and small indoor dining area for refreshments. The centre operates year-round, making it a practical base for a day out on Lough Derg whether you are visiting as a family or a larger group.
