Walk with Pius

Walk with Pius offers guided walking tours led by local guide Pius Murray, exploring the distinctive landscapes of County Clare. Based in the north of the county around Corofin, the walks take visitors across the Burren, the remarkable karst limestone region that forms part of the Burren and Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark on the Wild Atlantic Way.

The walks are as much about connection and reflection as they are about the terrain. Alongside the flora, fauna, geology and farming traditions of the Burren, Pius shares the area’s history, archaeology and mythology, guiding visitors to archaeological and sacred sites and often weaving in poetry, stories and moments of quiet along the way. Options range from gentle ambles to longer walks, and there are tailored reflective walks for school and student groups.

Beyond the Burren, Pius also leads seasonal walks on the islands around the Clare coast, including Inisheer in the Aran Islands, Scattery Island and Holy Island. Burren walks typically take around three to five hours, while island excursions can fill a full day, and the walks are suited to a range of fitness levels.
