White Water Surf Company

White Water Surf Company is a surf school and rental centre based at Spanish Point Beach, near Miltown Malbay on the coast of County Clare. Established in 2007, it has become a long-standing fixture at Spanish Point, one of the west coast’s well-known surfing beaches, where the Atlantic provides reliable waves for learners and more experienced surfers alike.

The school was founded by local surfer Pat Keane, who first began lifeguarding and surfing at Spanish Point in the late 1970s and drew on decades of experience in the water to set it up. The focus is on teaching visitors how the ocean works alongside the basics of surfing, with safety and enjoyment given equal weight.

An ISA-approved surf school, White Water caters for all ages and abilities, offering everything from one-off lessons to longer surf camps, as well as children’s sessions. Board and wetsuit hire are available for those who want to head out on their own, and the team offers ocean safety advice and general guidance for anyone new to the beach.
