Borris Golf Club

Borris Golf Club is a nine-hole parkland course at Deerpark, Borris, in County Carlow. Founded in 1907, it is among the older golf clubs in Ireland, and its position in the south of the county gives it a genuinely scenic setting. Although the course has nine holes, alternating tee boxes allow a full eighteen-hole round, offering a different challenge on the second circuit.

The course plays to a par of 70 over roughly 6,220 yards (about 5,680 metres) from the fuller markers. Mature, well-placed trees line the fairways and shape the strategy, while the greens are sand-based and served by an automatic watering system. Players enjoy wide views across the surrounding countryside, taking in Mount Leinster and the Blackstairs Mountains to the east, the Barrow valley to the west, and glimpses of Borris House, the seat of the McMorrough Kavanagh family.

The club welcomes visitors as well as members. Facilities include a clubhouse bar, car parking, and the hire of caddy cars and buggies. Visitors are advised to contact the club directly for current green fees, opening times, and tee bookings.
