Drombeg Stone Circle

Drombeg Stone Circle is one of the most visited prehistoric monuments in West Cork, set on a low hillside near the coast between Glandore and Rosscarbery. This recumbent circle, popularly called the Druid’s Altar, is made up of standing stones enclosing a central space, and dates from the Bronze Age.

Beside the circle lie the remains of a fulacht fiadh, an ancient cooking site, and two prehistoric hut foundations, adding to the atmosphere. Freely accessible and set in open countryside, it rewards a short walk from the roadside car park.
