JJ Corry Irish Whiskey Experience

The JJ Corry Irish Whiskey Experience is a working whiskey attraction near Kilrush in County Clare, on Ireland’s west coast along the Wild Atlantic Way. It centres on the revived craft of whiskey bonding: rather than distilling, a bonder sources new-make spirit from Irish distilleries and matures, blends and finishes it in their own casks. The JJ Corry brand, founded by Louise McGuane and run from the McGuane family farm, takes its name from J.J. Corry, a whiskey bonder who traded in County Clare in an earlier era.

Visits begin with a family welcome on the farm before moving into a 17th-century barn, where a guide explains the history of whiskey bonding in County Clare and the story behind the JJ Corry name. Guests then explore a purpose-built bonded rackhouse filled with wooden casks of maturing whiskey, learning about the different maturation and finishing techniques that shape the character of each blend.

The experience finishes with a tasting of three JJ Corry whiskeys, or the option of a highball tent where visitors learn to mix and pair whiskey cocktails. The venue offers free parking and is dog-friendly. Tours run seasonally and by advance booking only, with limited places, so it is best to arrange a visit ahead of time through the JJ Corry website.
