Kilrush Golf Club

Kilrush Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course set near the maritime town of Kilrush in West County Clare, on the Wild Atlantic Way close to where the River Shannon meets the Atlantic. The club was formed in 1934 and has been part of the local community for more than 90 years, welcoming golfers of all ages and abilities.

The course began as a nine-hole layout on what was originally open, treeless ground. Decades of tree planting by members gradually gave it its parkland character, and in 1994 it was extended and redesigned by golf architect Dr Arthur Spring into a full 18 holes, weaving the original nine into the newer land with a mix of trees, water and sand. Today it plays to a par of 70 over roughly 5,470 metres, with a signature par-three ninth guarded by water on three sides and sand on the fourth.

The club is a member-maintained course that positions itself as good value, and it welcomes visitors, societies, corporate outings and charity days. On-site facilities include club and buggy hire, free car and coach parking, golf tuition by arrangement, and The Golfer’s Bistro serving locally sourced food. Tee times and bookings can be arranged through the club directly.
