The Burren Art Gallery

The Burren Art Gallery is an art, craft, design and performance venue at Templebannagh, Kilkeedy, on the edge of the Burren in County Clare, near the village of Tubber. It occupies a former church that has been restored for use as a gallery, with the exterior finished in natural materials in keeping with local tradition. It is run by the artist and curator Andrew C. Waterhouse, who has lived and worked in County Clare since 1998.

Inside, it is a flexible creative space fitted with exhibition lighting and audio facilities. It hosts contemporary exhibitions, live performances and workshops, provides studio space, materials and equipment for artists, and can also be hired for events. Showing original contemporary work and giving opportunities to emerging artists is a stated focus of the gallery.

It stands in open countryside a short walk from Lough Bunny, a limestone lake of geological and ecological interest, where wild swans are among the bird species seen. Free car parking is available on site. The gallery lies inland in the north-east of the county; Shannon is the nearest airport, reached by road, while the coastal village of Kinvara, just over the boundary in County Galway and on the Wild Atlantic Way, sits a short distance to the north.
