Burren Fine Wine & Food

Burren Fine Wine & Food is a small restaurant and wine merchant set in the limestone landscape of the Burren in County Clare. It stands at the foot of Corkscrew Hill on the N67, roughly two miles from the village of Ballyvaughan and within easy reach of the Wild Atlantic Way. The business occupies a restored stone coach house on the grounds of a former parochial house, giving the setting a quiet, rural character.

The kitchen focuses on home-cooked food made largely from local produce, working with farmers, cheesemakers and other artisans from the surrounding area. Alongside daytime dining, the business offers summer lunches, afternoon tea, gourmet hampers and corporate gifts, and can cater for small private parties. The food side of the business operates seasonally, generally opening from May to September.

Wine is a central part of what happens here. The owner, Cathleen Connole, who has run the business since 1999, selects wines from small independent European producers, and wine sales and private tastings are available throughout the year. The premises has free on-site parking and WiFi, and the business is a member of the Burren Ecotourism Network.
